Nowadays there are a lot of vehicles and services designed for slow mobility like overboard, electric scooters, eletric bike and bike sharing. I have chosen to focus my work on a centenary vehicle that is now very difficult to reinvent and to improve;
I am talking about the bicycle.
Fot this new bike I decided to get inspired by new and original shapes that would commu- nicate future and innovation.
C O N C E P T
It was not so easy to find a new de- sign for a vehicle which has been refine year after year for centuries.
So I studied various formal so- lutions to combine functiona- lity, technology and beauty.
R E N D E R I N G
The main feature of this bike is its portability like a trolley in any pla- ce and transport thanks to its capaci- ty to split the body decreasing the bulk.
R E A L I Z A T I O N / P R O T O T Y P E
For the realization of the prototype I used some bal- sa panels, a soft and malleable wood that allowed me to realized curved surfaces whitout suffering fractures. Then I covered the body with putty, sand it and final- ly paint the whole bike. Also to give strenght to the body I used small wooden baton glued inside of it.
